Sliding patio doors are prone to adjustment issues which in turn can lead to eventual lock failure leaving the patio door unable to lock or jammed closed. Most aluminium and upvc sliding doors can be adjusted via the rollers or on the keeps which need adjusting periodically as parts wear. I keep a stock of patio door rollers, locks and fittings for sliding glass doors, most of which can be restored to as new condition. With older and obsolete parts, newer alternatives can be sourced.

In worst case scenarios the sliding doors have usually jammed closed and unable to unlock and open. In this case I am able to manipulate open the jammed mechanisms, remove the door and replace the gearbox inside the door. It's a fairy big job so I'd always recommend prevention rather than cure. Ensure your doors are regularly oiled, tracks kept clean and adjusted correctly so there is little to no resistance when locking. Of course when carrying out a patio door repair for you I will ensure all this is completed after setup.
All Doors Repaired
Domestic & Commercial
Replacing patio door rollers is one of the most common jobs on sliding doors. As dirt and dust build up along the track it can eventually erode the wheels causing flat spots, pitting and eventual jamming altogether. A sure sign of worn rollers is dragging of the door and grinding noises when sliding. In an ideal world where users clean the tracks regularly they would last forever but it's one of this jobs a lot of us never get around to doing. To replace the rollers is a door off job but I can source and replace the majority of sliding door wheels when required. A repair is considerably cheaper than a complete new door!
